Aquarius (January) spoon - Gorham

This is a 5-7/8" sterling silver zodiac spoon by Gorham. The handle says “Aquarius” and features the figure of Aquarius with the astrological sign underneath. The stem reads “January”, and the stem edge of the spoon bowl has a flower and leaf design. The decorated back of the stem carries the three Gorham hallmarks (a lion, an anchor, and the letter G), the word “Sterling”, an “H” in a diamond, and a patent date of March 20, 1894. We have two of these Aquarius spoons, they are identical, and other than some tarnish, both are very good condition. Price is for each. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

The stem top features several apple blossoms, under which is “Apple Blossom,” “Gemini,” the twins, the astrological sign, and “May.” The decorated back of the stem carries the early RW&S mark of R. This is a 5-7/8" sterling silver zodiac spoon by Gorham. The handle says “Leo” and features the figure of a lion with the astrological sign underneath and an engraved “9th” under that. The stem reads “July”, and the stem edge of the spoon bowl has a flower and leaf design. The decorated back of the stem carries the three Gorham hallmarks (a lion, an anchor, and the letter G), the words “Sterling” and “W. Scorpio (October) spoon - Gorham

This is a 5-7/8" sterling silver zodiac spoon by Gorham. The handle says “Scorpio” and features the figure of a scorpion with the astrological sign underneath. The stem reads “October” and the stem edge of the spoon bowl has a flower and leaf design. The decorated back of the stem carries the three Gorham hallmarks (a lion, an anchor, and the letter G), the word “Sterling”, an “M” in a diamond, a patent date of March 20, 1894, and an “R. Van Keuren & Co.” stamp. Ralph Van Keuren (1861-1931) was born in Waldon, NY, and moved to Savannah, GA in 1889 where he joined the jewelry firm of Hunter, Van Keuren, & Co. After Mr. Hunter retired, the company was known as R. Van Keuren & Co. They made fine jewelry, particularly watches, and also were the retailers for other manufacturers. Spoon bowl is engraved “Corning 1924.” The decorated back of the stem carries the three Gorham hallmarks (a lion, an anchor, and the letter G), the words “Sterling” and “B.K.&Co.”, an “H” in a circle, and a patent date of March 20, 1894.
